I have recently purchased this combo. It came spooled with line. The line was fine but I had it changed just because I was not sure what lb. test it was.

I spooled it up with 4lb. test mono hybrid line and set off to fish it. I spent a week fishing with it and I'm very impressed with the fit and finish of the rod and the quality of the reel.
I landed over 100 crappie over 10”, 15 rainbow trout and 3 keeper 12” bass. The bass were caught and released but the others are some good eaters.
In my opinion and 50 years of experience I would recommend this to any level of fisherman
